Duty Free Shopping

Duty Free is the term commonly used for products that are exempt from excise duty (& tax). Duty free tobacco and alcohol is now available to all passengers leaving the UK.

Travelling to the European Union

You can still purchase the same products, as you could prior to the UK leaving the EU. Duty free tobacco and alcohol is now available to purchase if you are travelling to an EU destination.

Countries Which Are Part of the European Union

The EU includes the following 27 countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain (including the Balearic Islands - Mallorca, Ibiza and Menorca), Sweden, the Netherlands.

Please note: There are a number of other islands or territories which, despite being within the “footprint” of the EU, or being sovereign states of those 27 members of the EU, are not within the tax territory of the EU. This means that whenever you are flying to these countries/areas listed below, you can buy relevant goods at “Duty Free” prices. These destinations are The Canary Islands - Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura (these are part of Spain).

The UK left the EU on 1 January 2021, and the end of the transition period for the UK’s departure from the EU ended on 31 December 2020.
